[i found these quotes, didnt make them up]!
>the scars will last f0rever,
but n0thing c0mpares t0 the pain
that put them there..

^_^ >telling a depressed person to be happy;
is like telling a cancer patient
to cure themselves

 >what do you do when u need to cry
but you feel like u have to be strong
for the people around you who have it worse
what do you do when u feel so alone
and need someone to talk to
but you don't because u know
there's people who have no one

>Have you ever just sat there & thought..
why?..
why did God put me here?
why do people hate?
why my life turned out this way?
why do people want to kill themselves?
why do i want to kill myself?
why my life is falling apart?
why do people love you & then hate you?
why you care so much about what other people think?
why did I turn out the way i did?

>Why cant i have a picture perfect Life??
She cried and picked up the knife...
Sliced her skin... one cut at a time
This life is no longer mine....

Lil foot,
Welcome, I agree with you that SI is an addiction. One that I am trying to overcome myself.
I think the big question is WHY? Why do you do it? Are you tring to express to others that you are pained inside? Do you feel that it is deserved?
I did it about 2 weeks ago only because I felt I had no other alternative to expressing my feelings. Prior to that I had not done it for about a year.
I have found that this forum and the people in it are VERY understanding, non-judgemental, honest and caring.
I have realized that coming here to "talk" is very helpful.
Most importantly, try not to put yourself in a compromising position. Don't go somewhere that the objects you'd normally use are easily accessible.
Remember that you are not alone.
Even though we just met, I want to say congrats on your month of no SI.

I forgot to add that I like the quotes.

Hi lil foot, glad you came here to share your recognition of this problem and were here to help in any way. This is a serious disorder that needs you to take control of. Come to this forum and release your unwanted thoughts or just hold ice cubes in your hands cause this is not dangerous to you. Alot of your post asked why. We don't need to understand why, we need to control our choices and stabilize our lives so we can create opportunity's. When I'm board and I'm thinking of my problem's, I just come here and see who I can help cause I'll feel useful then. My 15 yr. old daughter says she has done this and I hope she and yourself can find a better outlet like I did when I play guitar. We can put our lives in alotta songs out there and we can also look and listens for the ones that hold the answer, if you know what I mean? I create my own songs from life's experiences and it help to have a clear mind to create.

Best wishes to you and keep posting us.

I see the youth that I work with suffer with this. I can definitley see how it could create feeling where there seemingly was none. Have you sought help, and been through Tx? If not, I have a book at work called "Cutting" that I can get you the information on author and publisher. It is an interesting read, and might have something for you. Good luck, Lee
P.S.
I do get to craving more tattoos, and its not just from the artistic aspect. I have also thought about a brand with my initials on it. I know this is somewhat unusual, for what it is worth.

Hi Lee,
I'd be interested in checking out the book if you could get that info for me.
I have been living with SI since I was 12 and am 32 now. I am in therapy now and am trying to work out other "healthy" ways of expressing myself.

thanks

Hello Lil,

That was some nice thoughts showing light on the life of us as a fighter with depression.

--------------------
I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
