Hi all. My name is John and my wife has severe depression. This has affected her for many years and is now at the point that it is (probably has) destroyed our marriage. Prior to marriage I got her to promise to get help, but after the ceremony she decided she no longer has a problem. She spends most of her time miserable and anything can cause her to blow up. Mentioning the depression in any form results in an explosive situation.
I am at the point where I don't know if I can go on and am hoping to learn more of depression and ways I can hang in there for her. Though it has begun to affect my health.
Hi John, I very sorry about your situation. I'm here to find some help dealing with my husband. I have become so frustrated and sad that I don't know what to do. Because we have young children it makes it even harder. I'm not sure if you and your wife have any children yet, but you may want to wait until she is better before doing so.
It's breaks my heart to see other dad's outside playing and laughing with their kids.
Good luck to us. Hope we can get through this difficult time.
