Speaking as someone who is in a recovery stage all I can say is the way to recovery is to keep trying. Everytime life knocks you down get back up, use medication if it helps relieve your symptoms but above all make good use of the benefits the meds give you. The human mind is capable of great things, we've sent probes out to the edge of our solar system, we are ingenious but we have to apply ourselves. Therapy arms us with the skills we need to combat depression, don't just view the therapy session as the time you fight your illness, fight it outside of therapy, use what you have learnt. You will have failures and you will have successes, see what works for you and build on it.

That`s the right approach. By the way, therapists suggest to work on your problems when u are feeling better.
Good luck!
I think prevention is better than cure...I always try to keep away my depression from coming back again

Eat a balanced diet of healthy foods. Eating as much organic produce as possible will help to minimize the intake of chemicals and preservatives which can cause problems in sensitive individuals.

I think combination of medication, psychotherapy and self help is the best therapy.
