Hello everyone,

You like to start discussion on this topic goal setting? How do you guys set your goals?

Life’s disappointments and our inability to cope with all kinds of stress sometimes unleashes the kind of anger that goes beyond words. There seems to be so much anger in our society today, sometimes leading to fatal actions and other misdeeds.

You will fare better when your emotions are threatened, if you practice positive thinking, which means you will have control over your anger. Suppressing anger is not good for either your physical or mental well being. It can result in headaches, backaches, insomnia, and assorted personality disorders.

Anger is a very strong emotion to deal with. Many people do supress it and that's where it builds to uncontrolable reaction to any givin situation. This is one of my more thought out goals. I'd like to take back my full control over this emotion and only release it if logically neccessary. Looking for that Happy Medium.

Controlling Anger Before it Controls You

Reckon the days in which you have not been angry. I used to be angry every day; now every other day; then every third and fourth day; and if you miss it so long as thirty days, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God.

Some simple steps you can try:

Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."

Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.

Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.

Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.
Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation.

I always take ten minutes to decide in the night to know what my day tomorrow look like..This gives me some predictability and control over my tomorrow

To spend time in communities like this supportive and informative one. To build new bonds with new people, to strengthen the bonds of friends and repair the fractured ones with family. To let things go rather than to try to control them. These are all pretty broad brushstroke goals...but I look at my ife through thier frame. Sometimes successfully...sometimes not. Lack of motivation is my demon. I do my best to see how my achievenents positively impact my life and the life of others...even if they appear to be somewhat insignificant. Then I program myelf to default to Ghandi's statement..."We must strive to be the change we wish to see in the world". It reminds me that the only life I command is my own...and that my life will be my life's work...my fingerprint left in the vastness of the universe. It may be inconsequential...it may be more influential than I could ever imagine. I try to keep reminding myself of these things as I move forward through life.
