Uses of Aropax:
Aropax (Paroxetine, Paxil) is used to treat depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. It is also often prescribed for panic disorder and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Aropax is available in Australia, and is available in America as Paxil. It works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain.
This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
How to Take Aropax tablet:
Take this medicine as directed. It can be taken with or without food. It may up to 4 weeks to reach full effect, but you may see symptoms of depression improving in one to two weeks. Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly without consulting with your doctor.
Aropax Side Effects:
Some common side effects reported with this medicine include:
- Dry mouth,
- Drowsiness,
- Sweating,
- Blurred vision,
- Constipation, and
- Difficulty passing urine, although most of these should diminish over time.
- A lowered sex drive is also a common side effect of this, as with most antidepressants.
Warnings and precautions for Aropax:
- Talk to your doctor if you are taking certain antibiotics such as erythromycin, clarithromycin or azithromycin. This medicine should not be taken with MAO inhibitors.
- Talk with your physician or pharmacist if you are taking other medications.
- Paroxetine is not recommended to treat depression in children or teenagers. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
- Starting doses and maximum doses are lower for patients over the age of 60.
- Plan to avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to sunlight and to wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Paroxetine may make your skin sensitive to sunlight.
- if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking paroxetine.
What to do if you take Overdose of Aropax?
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
What to do if you take Missed Dose of Aropax?
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
How to Store Aropax:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of the reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
