What Are the Stages of Cancer?

Stage 1 – Well Contained

There are four different stages of cancer to be aware of. The first is Stage 1. This is the least severe form of cancer and can be treated easily if it is found early. Stage 1 cancer occurs in that the cancer will be small in size and will be located inside of the organ that the cancer started in. It will not have spread to other areas of the body at this point in time. Catching this form of cancer as soon as possible is the key to a proper form of recovery and treatment.

Stage 2 – Larger in Size

The cancer has still not spread around the body in Stage 2. However, the tumor that is involved in this form of cancer is still going to be larger in size. The increased size means that the cancer cells could be likely to spread around unless they are treated properly. In some cases the cells can go into one’s lymph nodes if the condition is not treated properly.

Stage 3 – In surrounding tissues

Stage 3 of cancer involves the cancer becoming large enough to the point where it will have gotten its way into other organs around one’s body. This can also feature cancer cells in lymph nodes. This is a harder cancer to treat than others because of how it is going to try and move into other areas.

Stage 4 – In other organs

When Stage 4 cancer occurs the cancer will have gotten so severe that it will spread to other organs in the body. This is going to cause the body to become weak. If this form of cancer is not found in time the person may be at serious risk of succumbing to this form of cancer. This is the most severe form of cancer that any person can deal with.
