Whether it is depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, addictions, grief, or any other concern that may impact mental health negatively, I can help. I take pride in providing a culturally-sensitive environment where my clients can feel safe and be candid. I provide support to my clients by assisting them in fostering problem solving techniques and coping strategies that have the potential to have an immediate positive impact.

I believe that people are resilient, dynamic and have their own strengths which can be the foundation for therapy. My approach is strength-based and incorporates motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. These approaches have been successful in addressing mental health, relationships, addictions, behavioural concerns, and more.
Ultimately I strive to promote a supportive and non-judgemental environment where my clients can feel confident in reaching their goals. My office is located in a convenient and discrete location and evening and weekend appointments are available. Call anytime and be assured that appointments are often available within 48 hrs.

Amanda Artese
Art therapist
Dr. Amanda Artese is a licensed clinical psychologist who has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Artese believes that each family is unique and applies this concept to each relationship. The process begins with an initial phone consultation to help both Dr. Artese and the potential client determine goodness of fit. It is important in choosing a therapist that both the child and family feel comfortable with the therapist. From the onset I work with the family to best understand the client and develop a treatment approach that is tailored to the family’s needs.

Dr. Artese believes that the client and their family lead change in therapy and the therapist works along side them to support and facilitate the change. Therapeutic style and approach varies based on the clients age and need of the family, and includes play, cognitive behavioral, and parent centered therapy.
Dr. Artese has a wide range of clinical experience diagnosing and treating various disorders. Dr. Artese has been trained heavily in treating complex psychological issues, including, PTSD, trauma, abuse and neglect, anxiety, depression, suicidal thinking and behaviors, ADHD, and behavioral disruptions with individuals ranging in age from 4-18.

In my practice, I look to build a strong and trusting rapport with clients. We are then able to work together on identifying potential sources of life stressors as well as strengths. Throughout that process, I assist clients in developing an understanding of their interactions with others. In exploring these areas, clients are then able to identify and modify previous patterns of behavior in order to achieve their full potential personally, academically, and/or vocationally.

After having interned at a substance abuse treatment facility for two years, I served as the coordinator for an adolescent substance abuse program. I became very comfortable working with individuals struggling with the emotional impact of substance abuse as well as the difficulties surrounding maintaining one’s recovery.

Are you feeling disappointed, lonely, or even hopeless about your relationship? Disconnection, misunderstandings, and faltering trust in your partner are painful experiences to endure alone. You may feel lost, overwhelmed, or exhausted. Regardless of where you are at right now with your partner, there is always hope. Even the most damaged relationships can heal. Just imagine how much more fulfilling your relationship might be if you felt loved and cared for by your partner. Imagine what it would be like if you enjoyed each other more could start having fun again.

I am passionate about enriching couple relationships and I I’d love to help you heal, strengthen, and nurture your relationship. I work with individuals and couples and I have a special interest in working with couples who are parenting young children.
Pregnancy, postpartum, and the early parenting years are particularly vulnerable times for individual women and their relationships. I feel privileged to work with women who are experiencing stress, depression, or anxiety during pregnancy or the postpartum period. Evening and Saturday appointments are available.

I deeply value my relationships with clients and believe that significant healing occurs in the context of a safe, supportive environment. I empower clients to look honestly at difficult issues and make the changes necessary to enhance their lives. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort where I help client’s access inner strengths and resources. We work together to get past barriers that are keeping you stuck in unproductive behavior patterns and unsatisfying relationships. The process of therapy often leads to greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, new ways of coping with life’s challenges, and more fulfilling relationships.

I have been providing therapy to individuals and couples for over twenty years. I enjoy working with adults and older adolescents. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career/life transitions, and women’s health issues including eating disorders, infertility, pregnancy loss, and menopause.
Our practice, The Brandywine Center, has been providing services to the community for over twenty years. We listen. We understand. We challenge. We help. We have created an environment that is warm, welcoming and supportive, where your voice will be heard. We are a group of therapists you can trust.
