Welcome, I’m a warm, caring and compassionate therapist and I have been helping people create the life they want for over 12 years. I understand that life can be hard and we often feel stuck in negative patterns, anxiety, depression, addictions, unsatisfying relationships or a painful past. I am here to listen to you and find solutions that work for you. None of us can see ourselves or our problems objectively. I can help you gain self-awareness, understanding and the skills to navigate any situation successfully. I offer a free 15 min phone consultation to see if we can work well together.

Are you having trouble coping with depression, anxiety or worried about your drug and alcohol use, is life overwhelming you? Do you have concerns about your relationships with your partner or family. I create a safe space where we can explore issues at your own pace.
I believe my greatest asset is my ability is to empathize with people, enter into their world and help them feel valued and accepted. Research has shown that the right connection with a therapist who understands and accepts you can be a life changing experience

Do you need help becoming unstuck in your life, and letting go of the trauma that has prevented you from moving forward and achieving your goals? I can help. I work in the areas of self-esteem, emotional regulation, eating disorders, relationships, work, life and overall satisfaction to help people regain stability and a sense of safety and security in their lives. Whether you are self-harming or experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, unexplainable sadness or disconnection from yourself, my goal is to work with you towards achieving a sense of grounding, healing and hope.

I have over ten years of experience working with Complex PTSD, OCD, BPD, and other mental health issues. I specialize in helping people to redefine trauma, viewing it as incidents fostering beliefs, feelings and ways of being in the world which unless challenged, continue to drive our thoughts, feelings, behaviours.

I have consulted with and treated many people dealing with injuries that have resulted from motor vehicle accidents and sport injuries. My background in the areas of injury rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and achieving excellence in athletics, forms the base of my counselling/clinical work with clients.

Developing new ways of relating to physical and emotional pain is essential. In the process of cultivating skills that improve functioning and coping, I teach people to engage with and overcome painful thoughts and feelings through awareness techniques to develop self-compassion, cognitive flexibility, and build life-enhancing patterns of behaviour.
I personally have been through the process of dealing with a significant sports injury. I believe that my experience, in conjunction with psychology, affords me a unique perspective and understanding of the underlying pain processes in conjunction with the complex nature of the mind.

I understand it’s difficult to find a therapist, which is why I offer FREE 20 minute phone consultations. This gives us a sense of how to meet your needs. If you want someone who can understand what you are experiencing, just give me a call or email me.

I help couples strengthen their relationships, support individuals healing from abuse & domestic violence, and provide Biblically-integrative therapy. My desire is to help people rebuild relationships, equip them to manage conflict, heal past wounds, and discover who they were created to be. I have a special place in my heart for people who’ve experienced abuse in childhood or marriage. As a therapist, my goal is to pull alongside you during times of hurt and frustration, work to make sure you’re understood, help sort out complicated emotions, and create a plan that helps you become a healthier, happier you.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve helped in developing coping skills, increasing productive thinking, improving relationships, & overcoming traumatic issues in a safe, nurturing environment. My approach is down-to-earth & focuses on getting to know you, and using techniques that have been researched & found most effective for your problems.

Every child is unique and wants to do their best. This is a core belief of mine. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on the planet and as parents, we too, want to do and be our best. Unfortunately we sometimes face challenges with our children that feel overwhelming and get in the way of who we want to be as parents. Since a child cannot exist outside of their family, my work with children encompasses working with parents to best support the child and family as a whole.

If you’re looking for help to feel more connected to your child, improve your child’s listening and/or behaviour and overall strengthen your relationship with your child, I can help. I have spent my career working with children ranging from infants to school aged alongside their families.
For the past several years, I have been working in the area of infant and early childhood mental health. I use a play-based, attachment & trauma informed approach in therapy with children and parent-child therapy. I am a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator.

I have worked with numerous couples who have encountered issues with communication, infidelity, and blended families. While many of my individual clients are female, I have particular interest and background in working with men’s issues, including anger, substance abuse, sexuality, and pornography.
My work is part of the counselling ministry of a large church. I discuss faith and spirituality with clients as they seem relevant to the client’s development and the issues the client brings to counselling.

Most of us arrive at times when we can benefit from talking with a knowledgeable person who can listen with the objective of helping us to understand ourselves. My goal as a counsellor is to help each person know and accept themselves. When I can provide that kind of counselling relationship, clients are much more likely to find their own strengths and wisdom. By listening with compassion and empathy, rather than judgement, I am more likely to help clients find greater harmony and peace in their relationships.

My approach is guided by the belief that people face difficulties in life in part because of painful early experiences that give rise to feelings that often remain out of awareness. As a result, these individuals can become depressed and anxious. Often, they find themselves repeatedly engaging in self-defeating patterns and becoming involved in relationships that are ultimately unsatisfying.

I believe that through thoughtful exploration and collaborative insight, my clients can become more fully aware of the experiences and feelings that contribute to their difficulties. I believe that this awareness can help my clients find relief from their symptoms and experience a stronger sense of self in the world.
When working with children and adolescents, I encourage children to communicate their feelings through imaginative play and therapeutic games. For my adolescent clients, I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for them to be able able to talk about difficult feelings and experiences and come up with effective coping skills.

Do you feel stuck in a rut? Stressed by outside commitments or internalized “should dos”? Do you feel unable to action the changes you want in your life? Taking a first step by engaging in counselling can help you not only adjust how you view yourself, others, and your current circumstances, but also – the results of therapy are usually improved functioning and a happier, healthier life. I work primarily with individuals, couples and families utilizing a collaborative, strengths-based approach.

Working together, we will explore the current challenges you are experiencing while finding ways to heal painful experiences from your past that may be impacting your present day functioning. Struggles with self-esteem, identity, depression, anxiety, life transitions, family and intimate relationships can be different. Things can change!
Although this is not an exclusive focus of my work – as a counsellor, parenting facilitator and educator, I do have a depth of understanding related to the specific stressors and challenges experienced by parents, sibling and individuals affected by Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD.
