A Low Fructose Diet May Be the Key to Handling Depression

What is the link?

There are some reports that suggest how depression and other mental disorders may be controlled through the use of a low fructose diet. This can be used to help with controlling cases of fructose malabsorption from occurring. This is a condition where the body is not able to handle fructose due to the largest amounts of problems.

This is a real risk that needs to be experienced when finding something effective. It can be easy for the digestive tract to become irritated. This is often going to cause neurotransmitters that are created here and are absorbed here to be damaged. This will cause the depression to become difficult to handle due to the lack of neurotransmitter support.

Why is this so notable?

The big point about mental disorders and fructose is that poor fructose absorption in the body can cause tryptophan to be produced. This is an amino acid that is used to help release serotonin, a chemical that is used to promote positive feelings. The inability of fructose to be broken down can cause this amino acid to become inhibited. This will cause it to be unable to handle serotonin, thus causing depression to occur.

What to avoid

The best way to use this strategy for handling depression is to avoid certain foods that are known to cause depression. It will be critical to avoid all kinds of sugars. Sugars are known to contain large amounts of fructose in them.

High fructose corn syrup should also be avoided. This is a sugar-like material that can contain fructose in it and will often be used to sweeten different kinds of foods.

Fruits and vegetables can be useful but it will be critical to ensure that they are consumed in a responsible manner. This means that they should not be consumed at an excessive amount. It is best to make sure that only the recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables are easier to handle because they can contain natural sources of fructose.
