Suffering from Apiphobia? |
||
What is Apiphobia?Fear of bees. Treatment of ApiphobiaThe discussion and information aspect includes, firstly, an initial interview with the patient. The aim of this is to discover the exact nature of his beliefs with regard to bees and how he responds to them, both in a behavioural and in a physiological sense (for example, whether he experiences symptoms of panic). Next, the exact nature of all these aspects is examined and discussed in detail and the patient is encouraged by the therapist to challenge them in an intellectual sense by being prepared to look at them in a new light. Secondly, the discussion moves on to an explanation of what will happen during treatment and the goals that the patient, with the aid of the therapist, can expect to achieve. It is very important for the full co operation and consent of the patient to be obtained at this stage and this usually involves a thorough examination of his individual worries concerning treatment and his ability to cope. The second and third elements concern the treatment session itself. |
