What is Snakephobia/Ophidiophobia (Snake Phobia)?

Fear of snakes. (Snakephobia)

Facts of Ophidiophobia

Animal subgroup is arguably the most highly studied of all the various types of phobia. It has provided the subject matter for theories about the origins, development, mechanisms and behavioural and cognitive processes that may apply to all phobias. Through increased understanding of these processes and ongoing studies, more sophisticated treatments are continually being evolved and tested which may be beneficial to all phobics and not just those suffering from specific phobias.

One of the most promising developments has been the formulation of single session treatments which have been shown to work especially well for animal phobias.
