Herbal medicine for Neophobia
Herbal medicine is the use of herbs and plants to prevent and treat disease. The medicinal use of herbs is believed to be as old as mankind with written records dating back, for example, to the time of ancient Egypt. By the Middle Ages in Europe, Herbals which are the books recording plants and their medicinal properties were being compiled.
Many apothecaries collected and kept a supply of plants to make their own remedies and monasteries each had their own herb garden, the monks themselves being skilled in the arts of healing.
