Ceraunophobia or Keraunophobia- Fear of thunder and lightning.(Astraphobia, Astrapophobia) Ceraunophobia also known as Keraunophobia is the fear from thunders, associated lightening and intense sound. This condition is generally prevailant but not restricted among people living in areas having strond influence of rains and thunders. Ceraunophobia is characterised by shortness of breathing, heavy breathing, exasperation, anxiety, etc when the affected person sees or experiences lightening and thunders. The fear of thunders and ligntening is attributed to some incidence in the past which has made the person feared and afraid. This sort of incidence is sometime along with some deep trauma and state of pain. Ceraunophobia is generally cured by taking the person slowly near to the place where there is some sort of lightening. This could be done in centers which has some artificial methds of creating sound and light.
