Dysthymia also known as dysthymic disorder, is a mild to moderate form of depression. In this there is a clinical diagnosis of moderate, persistent depression. The poeple who suffer, do not experience the extremes of depression, but the duration can be much longer. The dysthymic disorder does not impact a person's ability to perform normal functioning.
