What is Acephalgic Migraine?

Acephalgic Migraine is also known as Silent Migraine, eye migraine .Acephalgic migraine means a migraine without headache. It is a neurological syndrome.It normally presents as a visual aura. The symptoms generally spreads over 20-30 minutes.Five percent of migraine headaches come under this category.

Symptoms of Acephalgic Migraine

Seeing zig zags or flashing lights
Scintillating scotoma
Inability to speak
Vomiting
Partial loss of vision

How to treat Acephalgic Migraine?

Give medicines which include NSAIDs, antinausea medications, Midrin, ergotamines the triptans.
Asprin should be given for the treatment of Acephalgic Migraine.
